I've decided that instead of a Cat, Erik should get a bunny just for fun. Because, well... It's a Bunny!
So here he is, meeting his new pet, Mephistopheles, for the first time in a very touching moment. After all, doesn't every magician need his white rabbit?

He felt something in his hands then. Looking down he realized he had brought the small piece of carrot with him without even knowing! Erik knelt down slowly towards the little creature and extended his hand, waiting patiently.

All grew still for a moment as Erik sat there, still as stone with his hand extended. Soon, the little rabbit caught the scent of the carrot, as it's nose began wriggling with interest. Timidly so, the little thing began to feel his way towards Erik, taking very slow and cautious steps. Erik did his best to be at ease, not wanting to frighten it away - this rabbit was the first visitor he had in ages!

At last, the little rabbit went up to the carrot and took a bite, staying a moment to chew before taking another bite from Erik's hand.

Once the carrot had gone, the rabbit continued to sniff at his fingers, seemingly unaffected by their usual smell of death. Perhaps now it was death and carrots, for the tiny creature nipped at his finger.

"Oh, you're quite the little devil, aren't you?" He smiled then, and said softly to his new friend, "Ah! That's perfect. I shall call you 'Mephistopheles'."
